The whole WMS warehouse functions as one, but the distributed control given via the WMS is one major advantage over a central localised control system. Should a problem occur in one of the units, the other units will function perfectly well, thereby allowing the operations of the whole warehouse to continue and giving the option and the opportunity for that failed function to be replaced or manually over-written for the time being.
This is something that Keymas has recognised over the last decade or so and we have geared up our WMS control design to enable most of the warehouse operation to be modular and distributed in approach. This modular approach will also offer the facility of the warehouse function to be carried out on an incremental basis.
The final result is a fully functional, fully integrated warehouse system. That with the back-up and with the distributed control, should a problem occur in one sector all the other will function perfectly well.
